Waukee Schools' Duane Magee Named to Iowa Board of Education Examiners

Duane Magee has been named to the Iowa Board of Education Examiners. 

Magee, 42, is the board's new executive director overseeing teacher licensing and disciplinary action in the state of Iowa. He started in his new position July 1.

Until recently, Magee served as the assistant superintendent of human resources for .

"I wish Duane the best in his new role as Executive Director of the Board of Educational Examiners," said Dave Wilkerson, superintendent of Waukee schools.  "I'm confident he will do a great job leading that department in serving educators across the state."

Magee succeeds George Maurer who is retiring after seven years as director of the board.
