Pedal Power Pull
The Pedal Power Pull was held Tuesday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
In the Pedal Power Pull, kids attempt to pedal a mini tractor 40 feet (a "full pull") pulling a box weighing from 80 pounds for 4-year-olds to 260 pounds for 11-year-olds. In the event of a tie or two full pulls, weight is added and a re-pull is held to determine the winner.

Most Creative Chicken Sausage Culinarium

The Most Creative Chicken Sausage Culinarium contest was judged Tuesday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
Competitors had to create an entry using Johnsonville Chicken or Pork and Chicken Sausage. Entries were judged on taste, appearance and creativity.

2012 Micro-Mini Tractor and Truck Pulling
The 2012 Micro-Mini Tractor and Truck Pulling competition was judged Sunday at the Iowa State Fair.
Micro-mini tractors and trucks originate from an Ertl-type tractor or Tonka-style truck, which are then fitted with a model airplane or remote control car engine. The tractor or truck is also fitted with a driveline and special pulling tires.
Waukee participants include:
- Jim Adams, first place, 2W Drive – 4 Pound; second place, Super Stock 5 pound; third place, Open Class – 6 Pound Maximum; second place, Pro Stock – 5 Pound

The Key Lime Challenge competition was judged Saturday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.

Vera Towne's Traditional Red Velvet Cake
The Vera Towne's Traditional Red Velvet Cake contest was judged Saturday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.

The Birth in a Chicken House Contest was judged Saturday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.

Seed Stuffs Food Link in the Family Heirloom Recipe
The Seed Stuffs Food Link in the Family Heirloom Recipe competition was judged Sunday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
Entrants were required to submit their best made-from-scratch dish using a recipe prior to 1950. They also included a brief history of the dish or the person who gave them the recipe. Entries were judged on taste, history and appearance.
