Weather Alert: Waukee
The National Weather Service has issued an alert for the city of Waukee.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Dallas County that includes the city of Waukee. The advisory goes into effect at 7 a.m. today and will last until 7 a.m. Saturday.
Today is expected to be hot and sunny with temperatures near 96 degrees. Tomorrow, Independence Day, will be another hot and sunny day with temperatures near 98 degrees.
Ever day through Friday, heat indices of 100 to 105 degrees are expected by afternoon. Even during the evening, the index will remain around 80 degrees or higher.

Stay Cool
With temperatures soaring to near 100 degrees, the city of Waukee has designated the Waukee Public Safety Building at 1300 L.A. Grant Pkwy as the primary cooling center for Waukee residents.

The cooling center will be made available to anyone needing relief from the heat. The cooling center will be open everyday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For after hours concerns, residents are asked to call the Waukee Police Department at (515) 993-4567 for assistance.
