Waukee High School Open House

The new academic and athletic additions at Waukee High School will be open to the public today for tours from 4-7 p.m.

Waukee vs. Des Moines Roosevelt

The Waukee Warriors will face the Des Moines Roosevelt Roughriders tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Waukee Stadium. It's Waukee's Homecoming game so come dressed in your best purple and gold. Go Warriors!

Opening Night at the Whiskey Barrel Saloon

Move over Chop's Old Bank and Kenny's Pub - you've got a new neighbor. Tonight is the official opening party for Waukee's newest bar, the Whiskey Barrel Saloon at 360 Sixth St. on the downtown Triangle.

Stop by to wish the crew at Whiskey Barrel good luck and maybe grab a shot in their signature boot-shaped shot glasses. There will be food and drink for everyone (21 and over, of course.) The bar closes at 2 a.m.

Art on the Farm at Aloft Gallery

Local artists are gathering to show you what they do and how they do it Saturday at Aloft Gallery. Bring the family, see some different art techniques, purchase locally made artwork, all on the grounds of beautiful LT Organic Farm in Waukee.  LT's Restaurant will be serving a special lunch that day and Aloft Gallery will have their summer clearance sale...find something unique, give one-of-a-kind gifts. Art on the Farm begins at 10 a.m. Saturday.

"Tangled" at the Waukee Public Library

Bring the whole family to the Waukee Public Library Saturday for a free movie and popcorn. The Library is showing Disney's "Tangled" at 1 p.m. The Library provides the popcorn, you bring a drink. Only parents can determine the appropriateness of a movie for their children. Movies are not supervised by library staff.

Waukee High School Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming dance will be held in the Waukee High School west gym Saturday night from 8 to 11 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and all attendees must be Waukee High School students in grades 10-12 or be guests of a student. No one under grade 10 will be admitted.

Rock Puppets at Mickey's Irish Pub

Come out and listen to the sounds of the Rock Puppets at Mickey's Irish Pub Saturday at 9 p.m. There is no cover charge to attend.
