Waukee vs. Marshalltown in Marshalltown

will take on Marshalltown High School tonight at 7 p.m. at Leonard Cole Field in Marshalltown. The game is the second of the season and Waukee's first away game. Don your purple and gold and make the short drive to cheer on your Waukee Warriors tonight!

Saturday

Kid's Art Class: Colorful Chameleons

is hosting a kid's art class Saturday at 1 p.m. for children ages 7 and up. Cost for the class is $20. Kids will be making chameleons with oil pastels, then placing them in their "habitat" created with mixed painting techniques and acrylic paints.  All materials are provided, but please wear a paint smock.

Call ahead to register, as space is limited.

Ira Grace & the Bible Belt Prophets at Mickey's Irish Pub

Come out and listen to the sounds of Ira Grace & the Bible Belt Prophets at Saturday at 9 p.m. Founded on a mutual love for creating and performing music, Ira Grace & the Bible Belt Prophets deliver the goods. Catchy melodies, tight harmonies and thoughtful lyrics. There is no cover charge to attend.

Monday

Labor Day

In case you missed it, here's what's open and closed on Labor Day.

The will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Monday.

The is closed Monday.

All Waukee city offices will be closed Monday.

Yard waste collection will be on Tuesday due to the holiday. Also, there is no mail service on Monday.

All are closed. Classes resume on Tuesday at the regular time.

All banks are closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority will not operate on Monday in observation of Labor Day. DART’s administrative offices will be closed, as well. Service will resume and the office will reopen on Tuesday.

If shopping is your thing, Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Labor Day.
