Waukee vs. Southeast Polk

The Waukee Warriors will face the Southeast Polk Rams tonight at 7 p.m. at Waukee Stadium. Don your purple and gold and come out to cheer on the Warriors!

Kids Art Class: Giant Bugs at Aloft Gallery

Come out to the Aloft Gallery Saturday at 1 p.m. for a kids art class for children ages 7 and up. Young artists will study some colorful members of the insect world, then using paint and collage, will create an oversized version of their own, ready to frame.  All materials provided; please wear a paint smock.  Call early to register. Parents are asked to call (515) 720-4987 to register. Cost for the class is $20.

Pie in the Sky Band at Mickey's Irish Pub

Come out and listen to the sounds of the Pie in the Sky Band at Mickey's Irish Pub Saturday at 9 p.m. There is no cover charge to attend.

Sunday

Waukee Community Church's Helping Hands Day 

On Sunday members of Waukee Community Church will be canvassing Waukee looking for good deeds.

At the last Helping Hands Day, the group did everything from indoor cleaning, window washing, minor handyman tasks, yard clean-up, tree trimming and brush removal and more. There is no charge for their services.

Dallas County CROP Walk

The 2012 Dallas County CROP walk begins at the Dairy Shoppe in Adel, winds through the Raccoon River Valley Trail and ends at the Waukee Christian Church in Waukee this Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.

The 2012 CROP Walk for World Hunger is a 5.5 mile walk sponsored by Church World Service, an international relief, development, and refugee resettlement agency. Money raised by the CROP Walk is used to provide food, medical care, disaster relief, and self-help development for needy people around the world. Twenty-five percent of the money raised at the Dallas County CROP Walk will be distributed to local agencies including the Waukee Area Christian Services Food Pantry and Free Clinic in the lower level of the Westview Church.
