"The Muppets" at the Waukee Public Library
Come out to the today for the first of its afternoon movie series. The Library will be showing "The Muppets"today at 2 p.m. The movie is free and open to the public and includes popcorn. Next week's show will be "Monsters vs. Aliens."

Waukee vs. Johnston Softball and Baseball
The 9th grade girls softball team will face Johnston High School today at 1 p.m. at . The 10th grade and varsity baseball teams will each face Johnston beginning at 5:30 p.m. also at Waukee High School.

The YMCA of Greater Des Moines' Tour de Cure
The YMCA of Greater Des Moines and the American Diabetes Association are teaming up for the second annual Tour de Cure on beginning at 5:30 a.m. at the .
The tour will begin and end at the Waukee YMCA and will feature four different rides – a 10-mile family ride and individual 25, 50 and 100 mile tours. The cost is $12.50 for Y members and $25 for non-members. In addition, riders should raise at least $150 for the American Diabetes Association.
Sunday
Waukee United Methodist Church Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social
Join the members of the for an old-fashion ice cream social. The church will have homemade ice cream, pies, cakes, and brownies available from 4 - 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The Waukee Big Band will perform. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. There's no cost to attend but freewill offerings will benefit Heifer Project International.
