It will help families to maintain and/or build a positive relationship during the challenging pre-teen and teen years, to assist parents in helping their children succeed in the future, and to keep children from serious behavior problems. This free evidence-based program from ISU Extension and Outreach was recently named the number 1 most effective program for decreasing the onset of drug and alcohol problems in youth by the World Health Organization. Strengthening Families is appropriate and beneficial for all families, not just families who feel they are struggling during the pre-teen and teen years.
A free meal is included as well as free child care for younger children. Class size is limited. To register, contact Lisa Mickelson at (515) 993-4281 or lmickel@iastate.edu.
