Looking for a little weekend fun in Waukee? Maybe a little Halloween fun or some Christmas shopping? Here's what's happening Oct. 27 and 28.

Saturday
2nd Annual Shuler Miner's Market
The Shuler Elementary PTO is hosting the second annual Shuler Miner's Market this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the gym and cafeteria at Shuler Elementary, 16400 Douglas Pkwy., in Clive. Admission is $2 for all attendees 18 and over, free for kids under 18; raffle tickets are $2 each, or 3 for $5.

Westview Fall Shopping Bonanza
Westview Church is hosting its first Fall Shopping Bonanza. There will be more than 20 local vendors selling crafts, handmade goods, home businesses, free refreshments and more. The event goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Westview Church, 1155 S.E. Boone Dr., Waukee. Admission is free.

4H Fundraiser Benefiting Meals for the Heartland
Stop out to Waukee Hardware Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and support the 4H Fundraiser benefiting Meals for the Heartland. There will be a bake sale with lots of homemade goodies. Stick around for a free lunch provided by Waukee Hardware.
Healthy Halloween at the Waukee Family YMCA
The Waukee Family YMCA and Iowa Health Des Moines want you to celebrate a Healthy Halloween at the Waukee Family YMCA on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. There will be activities for parents and kids. You can trick-or-treat through the creepy corridors of the YMCA, do the “Frankenstein” at the Monster Mash Dance Party, create your own cackle crunch (trail mix) and witches’ brew, and learn to stay safe from fiery flames in the Blank Children’s Hospital Fire Safety House and show off your costumes. The first 500 children (ages 12 and under) will receive a commemorative trick-or-treat bag!
Haunted House at Centennial Park
The Waukee Park Board is sponsoring a Haunted House at the Centennial Park enclosed shelter house on Saturday night from 7-10 p.m. Enter if you dare, but be prepared to be scared. This haunted house is not recommended for young children. Cost is $5 per person.
Costume Contest at Mickey's Irish Pub
Mickey's Irish Pub is hosting a costume contest on Saturday. Where your best costume and show it off for a chance to win. There will be prizes — $150 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for staff favorite. The live band Sister Sara will play that night. The event goes from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There is no cover to attend.

St. Boniface Church Fall Turkey Dinner
If you're looking for a good place for Sunday lunch, stop out to St. Boniface Catholic Church foe their annual Fall Turkey Dinner. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-12. Ages 2 and under are free. This event includes a $500.00 cash raffle, basket raffle & bake sale. It begins at 11 a.m.
Family Halloween Bowling Party at Warrior Lanes
Warrior Lanes is hosting a Family Halloween Bowling Party on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. For $55 per lane, families get glow-in-the-dark bowling, concert lights, fog, sound and blacklights with two hours of bowling, shoe rental, a large 1 topping pizza and a pitcher of soda. "Run Before the Boo" at the Waukee Family YMCA
The 2nd Annual "Run Before the Boo" 5K will be held Sunday at the Waukee Family YMCA. The race will allow participants to feel guilt free before enjoying Halloween candy this October and costumes are encouraged.
A kids 50-yard dash will be held following the completion of the 5K. Packet pick up and race day registration will begin at 1 p.m., with the race starting at 2 p.m.
Registration is $35 per person with proceeds supporting the Waukee YMCA's YPartners annual campaign. There is no registration fee for the kids 50-yard dash. Contact the Waukee YMCA at (515) 987-9996 for more information.
