• Saturday multi-vehicle crash near West Branch was classified by officials as Mass Casualty Incident (weareiowa.com) — A massive series of crashes on I-80 near West Branch on Saturday was so severe that local officials classified it as a Mass Casualty Incident, with 40 to 50 people triaged. West Branch Fire Department led incident command over a six-mile stretch for most of the day, joined by West Branch police and numerous neighboring fire, ambulance, and law enforcement agencies. 
• Public weighs in on redistricting proposal during Johnson County meeting (cbs2iowa.com) — West Branch residents could soon vote in a brand-new county supervisor district as Johnson County’s redistricting commission backs a proposed map that groups the town into District 2 with several eastern communities. The change, driven by a new state law, would end at-large supervisor elections and may force some incumbents to run against each other after 2026.
