• Community college partnership aims to ease military vets into transportation jobs • Iowa Capital Dispatch (iowacapitaldispatch.com) — Southeastern Community College in West Burlington has been named a SkillBridge Industry Partner, opening a new pathway for active-duty military members to train for commercial driving careers while still receiving military pay. The college’s CDL program will now connect service members with local employers for internships, job shadowing, and job applications, aiming to strengthen both veteran opportunities and the regional transportation workforce. 
• West Burlington woman found with meth during traffic stop (kcrg.com) — A West Burlington resident has been charged after deputies say a traffic stop in Des Moines County led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine. Authorities report the woman was allegedly driving with a suspended license when a K-9 alerted to narcotics, and a baggie reportedly fell from her pocket while she stood outside the vehicle. She was arrested and taken to the county correctional center.
