Beauty Industry Executive Brings Blo Blow Dry Bar to Her Hometown

Blo Blow Dry Bar, North America’s original blow dry bar and blow dry bar franchise, will open its first bar in West Des Moines on May 20. Located at 5901 Mills Civic Pkwy, Suite #3140, the new bar will offer guests five signature styles on its hair menu, a la carte options, a variety of hair treatments, plus five signature makeup looks and a brand-new selection of customized looks to provide endless inspiration. Also, for a limited time, the new bar will offer a founder’s rate for its signature Mane Squeeze Membership that includes two blowouts a month for $75.

The new bar is owned and operated by West Des Moines native Dana Ranniger. From a young age, Ranniger had an interest in all-things beauty, which continues today in her professional life. For over 10 years, Ranniger has been a leader in the beauty industry and currently serves as the VP of Sales for a national beauty brand. She loves how inspiring the beauty industry is and how passionate stylists are about their craft as well their clients. Having become a leader in her career field, Ranniger is ready to become a leader in her community as well.

Ranniger saw a need in the West Des Moines community for an affordable, low-stress hair experience to help people feel great for any occasion or to simply treat themselves. In finding that the brand’s values aligned with her own, she is excited to bring the quality blow outs she loves to West Des Moines by opening her first Blo Blow Dry Bar.

“I travel a lot for my career and have received many blowouts when visiting larger cities. I absolutely love the experience and how amazing I feel afterwards,” said Ranniger. “While I love a good blowout before a special occasion, I also see it as a perfect opportunity for a little ‘me’ time and self-care. I realized there was a need to bring this relaxing and empowering experience to the West Des Moines community, so I jumped at the opportunity to open a Blo Blow Dry Bar.
