The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for parts of central and western Iowa in effect until 6 p.m. this evening.
Winds could be up to 30 m.p.h. at times with gusts up to 45 m.p.h. in some places. The National Weather Service cautions that high winds can make driving difficult, especially in high profile vehicles.
This afternoon, scattered showers, then showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4 p.m. Otherwise, the day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 57.Â

Tonight, expect more of the same with showers and thunderstorms touching down before 1 a.m. The low tonight is expected to be near 41 degrees.
The weekend forecast isn't quite barbecue weather. Look for a high of 54 on Saturday with a 30 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m.
