• Man, 62, arrested on meth count Tuesday in Atchison (wibw.com) — Atchison police say a 62-year-old local man was found in a stopped vehicle on River Road and arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Atchison County Jail, and officials say more details may follow as the investigation continues.
   

• In loving memory, Joanne Dierking (county10.com) — Many Atchison residents will remember Joanne Dierking, who taught special education here in the mid-1970s and was active in local church and community programs for children with special needs. Her life later centered in Wyoming, where she spent decades teaching and doting on her children and grandchildren, but her Atchison years helped launch both her career and her marriage.
   

• Dennis M. Bodenhausen (atchisonglobenow.com) — Longtime area farmer Dennis M. Bodenhausen, born in Atchison in 1946, has passed away at age 79. A memorial service is set for Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Camp Creek United Church, with burial at Camp Creek Cemetery and memorials suggested to the church or cemetery.
