Built through a public–private partnership, the 19,000-square-foot Station 13 is designed for a growing community, with modern living quarters, safety-focused features, and capacity to support thousands of future Panasonic workers.
   

• United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters release statement on De Soto Panasonic plant incident (kshb.com) — A deadly Dec. 12 shooting by a Johnson County sheriff’s deputy at the Panasonic battery plant in De Soto followed a stabbing that left one man critically injured. The national plumbers and pipefitters union has condemned the violence and expressed support for members, while an officer-involved investigations team led by Olathe police reviews the case for the Johnson County district attorney.
