• Seward County Commissioners Resign (kscbnews.net) — Seward County commissioners Carr, Fuller, and Abbott abruptly resigned after approving a deal for the City of Liberal to buy the county’s share of the fire station at 110 W. 15th Street. The meeting also brought new insurance contracts, security upgrades, rescue equipment funding, and a detailed report on how the Seward County Fights Addiction grant is improving local law enforcement and school safety. 
• LHS Girls 8th of 33 at Great Bend (kscbnews.net) — Liberal High School’s girls wrestling team turned in a strong showing at the tough Christmas Clash in Great Bend, placing 8th out of 33 teams with eight of nine wrestlers placing. The LHS boys squad also battled to an 8th-place finish at the Colby Eagle Invitational duals, and both teams say they’re focused on sharpening skills as the season continues.
