• Mission Gateway Deets: Don't Expect Progress Anytime Soon (tonyskansascity.com) — A Johnson County judge has cleared the way for a New York bank to begin selling the long-stalled Mission Gateway property at Johnson Drive and Shawnee Mission Parkway, marking a key step in its foreclosure process. While this doesn’t mean construction will restart soon, a Mission city official says the ruling is at least a step in the right direction for the long-troubled site.

• Shawnee's Midland Drive project set to begin early next year — Here's the latest (johnsoncountypost.com) — Drivers from Mission heading toward Shawnee should expect major changes on Midland Drive between Shawnee Mission Parkway and I-435, with a $12.4 million safety-focused rebuild starting in early 2026. The project will add sidewalks, bike lanes, curbs and gutters, but will also bring intermittent lane closures and at least one full closure as crews rework the narrow, heavily used stretch.

• Retired Olathe firefighter faces 'no-win' health care choice as ACA tax credits could expire (kshb.com) — Mission residents following health care and retirement costs may recognize KSHB 41 reporter Elyse Schoenig, who covers Mission and nearby Shawnee while tracking rising insurance premiums.
