• State leaders say it's time to make change at annual Hanukkah ceremony (wibw.com) — Prairie Village is at the heart of this year’s Hanukkah-at-the-Capitol ceremony, where state leaders honored the parents of Sarah Milgrim, a young woman from Prairie Village killed in an act of hate. Governor Laura Kelly and Rabbi Zalman Tiechtel used the gathering to call for unity, action, and “more light” in response to rising violence and antisemitism worldwide.
   

• KCK archbishop reinstates suspended priest after investigation — but with limits (kansascity.com) — Prairie Village readers should know that a separate, still-ongoing criminal investigation by Prairie Village police led to the resignation of a Leawood priest earlier this fall, even as another area priest has now been reinstated with restrictions. The archbishop says civil and church probes found no lawbreaking by Rev. Jerry Arano-Ponce, but imposed new limits on his interactions with minors and urged parishioners to report any boundary concerns.
