- Topeka city officials announced that SW Sunset Road between the two SW Edgewater Terrace roads in West Topeka will be closed for about two days starting Apr. 6. Mainline Contractors will be working in the area. Officials did not say why the closure will be in place. (WIBW)
- The weather is expected to be good on Apr. 8 for the 8th annual Topeka Easter Parade and Family Fun Festival. The events will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the NOTO Arts & Entertainment District. At 10:00 a.m., the parade will begin at Garfield Park, and after the parade, there will be an egg hunt, food trucks, kids' games, a petting zoo, inflatables, about 100 vendors, and more at Great Overland Station. - On Thursday, Apr. 6, there was a crash involving four vehicles in north Topeka in the southbound lane of Lower Silver Lake Road and Highway 75. The Kansas Highway Patrol, Topeka Police Department, and the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, which has been reported as a non-injury crash. (KSNT)

- On Apr. 5, the first Topeka’s Got Talent was canceled due to a lack of contestants. The It’s a Greek Thing Step Show, which was scheduled for Apr. 15, was also canceled. Washburn University hopes to have more contestants next year to bring the shows to life. (KSNT News)
- Quontez Marquice Livingston, 32, of Topeka was arrested after deputies found thousands of pills suspected to be fentanyl, pounds of meth, and a gun that investigators said they suspected was stolen. The joint operation between the Douglas County and Shawnee County Sheriff’s Offices began with a traffic stop on Apr. 5 on eastbound Highway 40 near the Shawnee County line. (WIBW)
- On Apr. 4, Topeka police arrested Dylan J. Talamantes, 28, of Topeka after he allegedly attempted to hit a woman, refused to leave her home, and then hit an officer. He was arrested on the 3700 block of SW Plaza Drive and was charged with assault, criminal trespass, interference with law enforcement, and battery on law enforcement. He has since posted his $1,500 bond and is no longer in jail. His court date is set for 11:00 a.m. on May 5. (WIBW)
