The future of Topeka is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Grace Kessler, who are making a positive impact in and around Topeka.

Grace, a recent graduate of Emory University and Topeka native, was honored with the prestigious Lucius Lamar McMullan Award for her exceptional leadership, academic achievement and global potential. Known as “Madame President” in Emory’s Barkley Forum for Debate, Grace consistently ranked among the nation’s top three collegiate debaters, earning accolades such as the Rex Copeland Award and Top Speaker at the National Debate Tournament. Her dedication extended beyond debate, as she maintained a perfect GPA, completed an honors thesis on immigration court policies and served as editor of the Emory Political Review.

Grace’s commitment to policy and law is evident through her impactful internships at McKinsey & Company, Bracewell and Emory’s Immigration Law Lab. With plans to begin Harvard Law School after working at McKinsey & Company, she is poised to make significant contributions in government and nonprofit sectors.
