Identity Of Sheriff's Deputy Killed In Kentucky Shooting Released

The identity of a second person who died in the shooting has not been released, according to the Associated Press.

BENTON, KY — A sheriff’s deputy who died in a shooting Monday in Kentucky has been identified, according to the Associated Press.

Chief Deputy Jody Cash of the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office was killed in Marshall County, the Associated Press reported, adding that the name of a second person who died in the shooting had not been released.

The incident occurred at the Marshall County Sheriff's Office in Benton, according to WPSD Local 6, which identified the second person as a suspect.

Cash was a trooper from 2011 to 2018, when he retired, the Associated Press reported.
