University Softball Team Bus Crashes; 3 Taken To Hospital

The Murray State bus was trying to pass a logging truck when the vehicles crashed and logs pierced the window of the bus, NEWS 19 reported.

MURRAY, KY — Three people were taken to a hospital after the Murray State softball team bus was involved in a crash Wednesday in Alabama, according to reports.

The incident occurred while the team was traveling to an NCAA tournament in Tuscaloosa, a tweet from the university said, adding that the people taken to the hospital suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and required further tests.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. on Highway 13 near Bankston, according to NEWS 19, which reported the bus was trying to pass a logging truck when the vehicles crashed and logs pierced the window of the bus.

Murray State is scheduled to play Stanford at 5:30 p.m Friday in Tuscaloosa.
