BELLEVUE, KY — A Goodwill store in Kentucky is trying to reunite a piece of family history with its rightful owners, according to WKRC.

The store in Bellevue recently found two nearly 80-year-old letters from World War II Naval Officer Robert Ballantine to Miss Elizabeth W. Smith, the station reported, noting one letter indicated Ballantine had been stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois, for training.

A 2002 obituary for Ballantine published by the Philadelphia Inquirer said he served in both Europe and the Pacific during the war before spending the last 50 years of his life in the Philadelphia area.
