Kentucky State Police discusses dangers of drinking and driving ahead of New Year's Eve - WNKY News 40 Television (wnky.com) — State police based in Bowling Green are ramping up patrols and safety checkpoints around New Year’s to crack down on drunk driving and keep local roads safer. Troopers urge residents to plan sober rides, check checkpoint locations online, and avoid becoming part of the seasonal spike in alcohol-related crashes and deaths.
3. Bowling Green man charged with sexual misconduct involving child - WNKY News 40 Television (wnky.com) — An 18-year-old Bowling Green resident has been charged with sexual misconduct involving a child after Warren County deputies reviewed messages and images they say showed inappropriate contact. The man denies being in a relationship with the minor, saying they are only friends. He remains in Warren County Regional Jail and has a pretrial conference set for Jan. 21.
4. Warren County Sheriff's Office mental health crisis program shows positive results (wbko.com) — Bowling Green and Warren County residents now see mental health professionals riding with deputies on crisis calls, and early results show fewer repeat calls and arrests. Sheriff Brett Hightower says the Lifeskills partnership provides on-scene help plus follow-up care, and officials expect even more impact once the new Anchor Project Crisis Intake Center opens.
5. Chaney's Dairy Barn welcomes a baby calf on Christmas Day - WNKY News 40 Television (wnky.com) — A Bowling Green favorite, Chaney’s Dairy Barn, got a special Christmas surprise when a long-overdue cow delivered a healthy calf on Thursday morning. The newborn, quickly named “Mary Christmas” to match her maternal line’s M-names, is already walking around and has become a local social media star, drawing thousands of likes and plenty of community affection.
