• Calvert City Named Kentucky League of Cities' City Government of the Year (marshallcountydaily.com) — Calvert City has just been named the Kentucky League of Cities’ City Government of the Year, recognizing the city’s leadership, staff, and residents for outstanding service. Mayor Gene Colburn accepted the award locally, calling it a tribute to the community’s teamwork and everyday engagement. The honor places Calvert City among a select group of standout municipalities statewide. 
• James Earl 'Slim Jim' Housden, 87 (marshallcountydaily.com) — A longtime millwright who spent more than thirty years at GAF Manufacturing and ISP Chemicals in Calvert City has passed away at 87. James Earl “Slim Jim” Housden of Symsonia is remembered for his strong work ethic, deep church involvement, and generous volunteer service. Visitation and funeral services are set for Saturday, December 13, in Paducah.
