• Todd County First Responders Learn About Grain Bin Rescue (wektradio.com) — Todd County firefighters and first responders gathered at the Extension office Tuesday night for specialized training on grain bin rescues, led by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s safety division. The evening also featured a chili cook-off, where judges included Elkton Mayor Arthur Green and Your Ag Edge’s Alan Watts, with Justin Griffin taking home top honors. 
• Helen Sue West, 84, of Hopkinsville (wkdzradio.com) — A local connection to Elkton comes through Helen Sue West’s brother, Jerry West of Elkton, who is among her surviving family. Helen, 84, of Hopkinsville, passed away December 9, with services set for December 15 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home and burial in the George West Family Cemetery.
