Police arrest Hopkinsville man for pointing firearm at victims (whopam.com) โ Hopkinsville Police recently arrested a 23-year-old local man after a woman reported that a driver pointed what appeared to be a handgun at her and her child on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Officers later stopped the vehicle near South Virginia and 3rd streets, finding BB guns and marijuana vape pens, and charged the driver with wanton endangerment and several traffic and drug-related offenses.

2. Plans to repurpose old CCHS campus for alternative programs moves ahead, rebranding anticipated (christiancountynow.com) โ Christian County Public Schools plans to turn the current Christian County High School campus in Hopkinsville into a centralized hub for alternative programs once the new consolidated high school opens. By August 2026, Bluegrass Learning Academy, Virtual Learning, Focus and Finish, and home hospital services could share the site under a new Christian County Learning Center name, expanding access to classrooms, a cafeteria, and a gym.

3. Homes evacuated as crews investigate gas leak in downtown Hopkinsville (christiancountynow.com) โ Emergency crews have shut down West Seventh Street in downtown Hopkinsville and evacuated nearby homes while they work to contain a gas leak near the 900 block. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use West Second Street as a detour while Hopkinsville Fire Department and Atmos Energy investigate and secure the scene.

4. HFD provides safety tips, invites the community to donate gifts (whopam.com) โ Hopkinsville Fire Department leaders are sharing urgent winter safety tips and asking residents to donate unwrapped gifts for local children in 50 families. Donations are due Friday at headquarters on Phillip Meacham Way, and officials stress safe space-heater use, careful driving on ice, and fully defrosting windshields to prevent fires and accidents.

Hopkinsville Boys & Girls Club staff member receives regional recognition (christiancountynow.com) โ A Hopkinsville Boys & Girls Club leader, Amanda Nielsen, has been honored as the 2025 Midwest Region Program Staff of the Year for her work with local youth. Her innovative programs in academics, mental health, and healthy lifestyles are earning regional recognition while directly benefiting kids and families in Hopkinsville-Christian County.
