• Kentucky Blood Center to reward donors with complimentary movie tickets during "giving" season (winchestersun.com) — Pikeville residents can get free movie tickets by donating blood at Kentucky Blood Center’s Pikeville donor center between December 17 and 31, helping replenish a critically low supply. All blood types are needed, especially O- , O+ and A-, and donations directly support hospitals across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
   

• Pike man charged with burglary for staying in apartment after resident went to rehab (mountain-topmedia.com) — Pikeville police arrested a local man who admitted staying in another resident’s Ridge Cliff Apartments unit, driving his car and using his debit card after the resident left for rehab. Officers say the car had been reported stolen and the man was no longer allowed to use the vehicle or apartment, leading to burglary, auto theft and credit card fraud charges.
   

• Taylor David West, age 22, of Jamestown (lakercountry.com) — Family and friends in Pikeville are among those mourning 22-year-old Taylor David West, whose aunt and uncle Anthony and Brittany Anderson live in Pikeville. Taylor, originally from Somerset and residing in Jamestown, passed away on December 16, 2025, and worked at Stephens Pipe and Steel. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
