• Mother abandons toddler in empty apartment with goodbye note (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Richmond police say a local woman has been charged after officers found her one-year-old child left alone in an unlocked apartment. Authorities report the toddler was in a playpen near a large TV while the mother walked to a nearby church. She is being held in Madison County Jail on bond and has a court appearance scheduled.
