• PROJECT UPDATE – DOTD announces project to replace six rural bridges in Red River & Bienville Parishes (redriverparishjournal.com) — Drivers in and around Coushatta should know that DOTD’s $12 million project to replace six rural bridges in Red River and Bienville parishes is moving forward, including the LA 514 bridge over Bayou Chicot. Crews are pouring the new bridge deck, tying in roadway approaches, and installing safety features, with reopening expected in March 2026, weather permitting. The work aims to protect vital rural connectivity for local communities.
