One- and two-bedroom units remain cheaper than elsewhere in Louisiana, giving local renters relatively more breathing room even as some unit types have ticked up year over year.
   

2. 18-year-old accused of video voyeurism in Houma mall (wgno.com) — An 18-year-old was arrested after deputies say he was identified in connection with alleged surreptitious photos taken in a women’s restroom at Southland Mall in Houma. A mother reported someone photographing her and her child in separate stalls, then chasing the suspect into the parking lot before he left in a vehicle. Deputies later booked the teen on multiple counts of video voyeurism.
   

3. Crash claims life of 36-year-old Houma man in Terrebonne Parish (houmatimes.com) — A 36-year-old Houma man, Pernell Naquin, died Sunday evening after his Honda Civic collided with another vehicle at LA Highway 57 and Thompson Road in Terrebonne Parish. State Police say both drivers were unrestrained, and they’re using the tragedy to remind Houma-area residents that properly wearing seat belts greatly reduces the risk of death or serious injury.
   

4. H.L. Bourgeois, Byrd basketball game offered unique opportunity for longtime coaches to play against sons (houmatimes.com) — Local fans just watched a rare scene at H.L. Bourgeois: longtime Braves coaches Andrew Caillouet Sr. and Sterling Washington facing their own sons on the opposing Byrd bench during the Gene Simmons Memorial basketball tournament. The weekend mixed competition with deep family pride, South Louisiana food, and emotional reflections, including Washington’s recent decision to step down as H.L. Bourgeois’ head football coach while remaining on the basketball staff.
