The arrest is one of hundreds tied to a broader federal immigration operation that’s been underway since early December.

• Kenner residents demand action from city leaders concerning Catahoula Crunch (fox8live.com) — Kenner residents packed Friday’s city council meeting to protest the federal “Catahoula Crunch” immigration operation they say is frightening families and hurting local Hispanic-owned businesses. Homeland Security reports about 370 arrests so far, while Police Chief Keith Conley backs the crackdown but says he can’t control federal actions, leaving many residents demanding city leaders limit cooperation with immigration agents.
• Kenner residents pack council meeting over immigration operation (wdsu.com) — Dozens of Kenner residents crowded a city council meeting to describe how the “Catahoula Crunch” immigration operation is shuttering businesses, keeping kids out of school, and driving families indoors. Police Chief Keith Conley and Councilwoman Dee Dunn say they don’t control the federal crackdown but promise continued dialogue with the Hispanic community.
