• Mandeville mayor says Trader Joe's coming to his north shore city (fox8live.com) — Mandeville residents are set to get a long‑requested Trader Joe’s, with Mayor Clay Madden confirming the specialty grocer will take over a vacant Pontchartrain Square space. While there’s no opening date yet, the store will be the first Trader Joe’s in Louisiana outside the New Orleans and Baton Rouge markets, which city leaders say reflects Mandeville’s growing regional draw. 
• Deputies Say Neighbor Stopped Violent Knife Attack in Mandeville Subdivision (973thedawg.com) — Early Monday in Mandeville’s Greenleaves subdivision, a neighbor fatally shot a man while intervening in an ongoing knife attack, leaving the attacker dead and a woman seriously injured but stable. Deputies say the woman fled a nearby home after being stabbed, and investigators believe the neighbor’s actions likely prevented further harm as they continue reviewing evidence.
• Parish security ending (slidell-independent.com) — Security provided by the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office at the parish administrative complex on Koop Drive in Mandeville is set to end December 31 because the parish hasn’t paid its full bill. Sheriff Randy Smith says he’ll keep courtroom bailiffs but pull other deputies, while Parish President Mike Cooper has instead filed suit to force continued coverage amid a deepening budget crisis.
