Loyola University Dining Hosts Sweet Pink Wishes Campaign

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, Loyola University Dining at Loyola University New Orleans hosted 2nd annual Sweet Pink Wishes Campaign

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Loyola University Dining at Loyola University New Orleans hosted its second annual Sweet Pink Wishes campaign, inviting students to share heartfelt messages of hope and encouragement with breast cancer patients in the community. Led by marketing intern Sabrina Huynh, the October 1 event transformed Loyola’s dining area into a gathering space of compassion and community care.

Students, staff, and Loyola University President Dr. Xavier Cole gathered together, each taking a moment to write letters filled with words of strength, positivity, and solidarity. These letters were destined for patients undergoing treatment at the Lieselotte Tansey Breast Center at Ochsner, aiming to bring them comfort during challenging times. As a small token of appreciation, participants received pink cookies, a symbol of their contribution to a cause that resonates deeply within the community.

The response was overwhelming. By the end of the event, more than 200 letters had been collected, each one carefully written to bring encouragement and support. The letters were delivered to the Lieselotte Tansey Breast Center on October 24, bringing with them a wave of community love and compassion.

“It was truly inspiring to witness students, faculty, and staff come together, united for a common cause,” shared Huynh. “Seeing everyone join in to write these letters was a refreshing reminder of the strength of our community.”

Jada Francis, a representative from Ochsner, echoed Huynh’s sentiment, saying, “This was incredibly thoughtful and truly heartwarming. These messages of support make a meaningful difference for our patients.”
