Safe and Sound During Hurricane Season at The Carrollton New Orleans

Throughout the year, including during hurricane season, "they are well prepared for a range of possibilities, from losing power to evacuating." The daughter of a resident of The Carrollton posted this review full of praise and appreciation for the assisted living and memory care community.

Sai Raj Kappari, the executive director of The Carrollton, concurred that his team does, in fact, have plans and preparation in place for every eventuality, including but not limited to hurricanes. In September, Hurricane Francine caused a flood emergency in New Orleans. "We never lost power, at The Carrollton" said Sai Raj. While people throughout the area were dealing with the storm's impact, the staff at The Carrollton had everything under control. "The residents enjoyed cocktails and mocktails and socialized. They had fun and were safe while the storm passed," he said.

Sai Raj and his team sheltered-in-place with the residents. "I slept on the floor in my office to keep an eye on things," he said. Staff, as well as their families, were fed and able to sleep at the community. "Everyone pitched in to ensure our residents were cared for.”

"Communication throughout Francine and other storms was proactive and consistent. I live outside of New Orleans, so knowing that they are on top of emergency planning is crucial to our family," concluded the resident's daughter.
