Pineville police respond to reports of kids hurt at Friday's parade (kalb.com) — Pineville police say two children were knocked off an ATV during Friday’s Pineville Christmas Parade after the driver tried to do a wheelie and lost control, but no serious injuries were apparent and both kids got up immediately. The incident, caught on video near the end of the route, has led police to bar that ATV driver from future parades.
   

2. IHOP, Logan's among restaurants that closed in 2025 in Rapides Parish (thetowntalk.com) — Several well-known chain restaurants in the Alexandria-Pineville area shut their doors in 2025, including Logan’s Roadhouse and the area’s only IHOP along MacArthur Drive. While Pineville diners lost options, there’s some good news too: a Pineville Cajun-Creole spot earned national recognition, and Olive Garden is set to open soon in a former Johnny Carino’s location.
   

3. Microsoft buys carbon credits from Louisiana bioenergy plant (thecentersquare.com) — A $2.4 billion bio-methanol plant is planned near Pineville at the former International Paper mill site, with Microsoft agreeing to buy millions of tons of carbon removal credits from the project. Developers say the Beaver Lake facility could create more than a thousand construction jobs and hundreds of permanent positions while using local forestry byproducts and storing captured carbon underground in Louisiana.
   

4. Notice of Death – December 15, 2025 (rapidesparishjournal.com) — Families across Rapides Parish are announcing services this week for several loved ones, including a Saturday, December 20 service at Rush Funeral Home in Pineville. The notice lists times and locations for funerals in nearby communities like Ball, Alexandria, Woodworth, Deville, and Lecompte, helping friends and neighbors plan to pay their respects.
   

5.
