• Kim Mulkey and LSU making moves to land top 5-star 2027 recruit (deathvalleyvoice.com) — River Ridge gets a brief spotlight as LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey and her full staff traveled there to scout 6'5" Oak Grove center Caroline Bradley in a matchup against John Curtis. The 5-star 2027 recruit is Louisiana’s top player and a national top-five prospect, and LSU is battling powerhouse programs like South Carolina to keep her in-state. 
• New Orleans Starbucks baristas take to the picket line and shut down their store — Fight Back! News (fightbacknews.org) — River Ridge’s unionized Starbucks store recently joined the nationwide “Red Cup Rebellion” strike, forcing the local shop to close at noon after a morning of picketing. Baristas say they’re pushing for better pay, hours, and staffing, accusing Starbucks of stalling contract talks while community supporters honked and marched alongside them on the picket line.
