• Fire destroys Scott home; leaves neighboring house with damage (katc.com) — An early-morning fire on Jerome Road in Scott completely destroyed one home and caused minor heat damage to a neighboring house, but no one was inside and no injuries were reported. Scott firefighters, assisted by crews from Carencro, Duson, and Lafayette, contained the blaze, which officials say was accidental as they continue investigating the exact cause.
