• Oversized trucks continue hitting Calcasieu River Bridge detour despite warnings (kplctv.com) — Drivers in Westlake should expect the I-10 detour under the Calcasieu River Bridge to remain in place through at least the end of 2026, with a strict 12-foot height limit. Despite heavy signage, flashing beacons, and police presence, trucks keep striking the protective beam, scattering debris and disrupting traffic. Officials plan even more warning systems, and over-height trucks must detour via Lakeshore Drive.
