Andrew Huber-Young of Wells was charged Sunday in connection with the death of 2-year-old Octavia Huber-Young, according to a report.

WELLS, ME — A 2-year-old girl is dead and her uncle is facing a homicide charge after shots were fired during a family dispute at a Wells home on Saturday, according to a report citing Maine State Police.

Andrew Huber-Young, 19, of Wells, is accused of shooting three people, including 2-year-old Octavia Jean Huber-Young, the Portland Press Herald reported. The shooting happened around 4:20 p.m. Saturday. Octavia died later at the hospital, police told the Press Herald.

The other two victims, both men, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Press Herald reported.

While police did not identify the relationship between Huber-Young and the victims, a family member told the Press Herald that Huber-Young is the brother of Octavia’s father. The other two victims were Octavia’s father and grandfather, the family member told the Press Herald.

Octavia's mother, Samantha Higgins, told WGME she and her family are devastated by the loss.

"All I know is she was full of life and she always loved to smile and play. She always wanted to be like her older sister," Higgins told WGME.

A GoFundMe page was set up by Michelle Blasi to help Higgins following her daughter's death.

"Enduring such a loss is going to be an extreme emotionally process and we would like to see that she gets help financially so that she can be with family during this time," Blasi wrote. "Samantha is a wonderful mother to another young girl while an additional one is on the way."

Huber-Young is tentatively scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, the Boston Globe reported. He’s currently being held without bail at York County Jail.
