Maine Toddler Overdoses On Heroin, Fentanyl; Mother Charged: Police
Officers were called to a Lewiston home Sunday, where they discovered the 18-month-old's lifeless body.
LEWISTON, ME — A Maine woman is facing charges after police say her 18-month-old son overdosed on heroin and fentanyl and had to be revived with Narcan.
According to Lewiston police, officers were called to a home on Knox Street at 9:45 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, they found the toddler's lifeless body and tried to revive him, authorities said.
A witness in the home then told police the toddler may have ingested drugs. According to authorities, officers gave the child Narcan, a medicine used to treat opioid overdoses. Once the Narcan was administered, the child slowly regained consciousness, police said.
