Trans Mainers Push Bills To 'Make Community Healthier And Safer'
Amid nationwide attacks on the rights of trans people, members of the LGBTQ community spoke to lawmakers Tuesday at the State House.

Amid increasing attacks nationally on the rights and humanity of trans people, members of Maine’s LGBTQ community, accompanied by family members and supporters, came to the State House Tuesday to ask lawmakers to support a package of bills they say would improve their lives.
“Our folks have been really stressed out about what’s going on politically and we wanted to make sure that they felt like they had a voice here in Augusta,” said Quinn Gormley, the executive director at MaineTransNet.
