• Spurwink to expand services to Lewiston (mainebiz.biz) — Auburn residents will soon have closer access to 24/7 behavioral health crisis care as Spurwink opens a new crisis receiving center in nearby Lewiston serving all of Androscoggin County. Supported by Auburn and other local partners, the home-like facility aims to divert people from ERs and police involvement while offering short-term stabilization, assessment, and connections to ongoing treatment.
• Former Lewiston man sentenced in 2024 shooting death at Hillview Apartments (sunjournal.com) — A man involved in a 2024 Lewiston shooting has been sentenced after spending months held at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn. He received a 15-year manslaughter sentence with most of it suspended, following the death of a 17-year-old near Hillview Apartments. The case deeply affected the Lewiston-Auburn community, especially those who knew the teen through local youth programs.
