• Authorities investigating oyster gear theft in Maine (nationalfisherman.com) — Authorities are investigating the suspected theft of about 40,000 oysters and 14 aquaculture cages from a Falmouth site in Casco Bay, a loss valued near $20,000. Maine Operation Game Thief is offering a $5,000 reward for tips leading to a conviction, and residents are urged to contact Marine Patrol or submit anonymous information if they know anything.
   

• Monks Women Sweep Relays, Break Three School Records at USM Alumni Open (gomonks.com) — A Saint Joseph’s College women’s track athlete from Falmouth helped the Monks’ 4x400-meter relay win at the USM Alumni Open in Gorham.
