• UNE secures $1.6M grant to train medical students in rural Maine opioid treatment (newscentermaine.com) — A new $1.6 million federal grant to the University of New England will train future providers to treat opioid use disorder in rural Maine, complementing care already available around Greater Portland. Over four years, UNE will expand hands-on training and certification for pharmacists, nurses, dentists, and other clinicians, with financial help for those relocating to underserved rural communities.
