Aberdeen Gets $100K For Festival Park Upgrade
A splash pad will adorn the park thanks to a $100,000 state grant.

may soon be a little bit cooler, thanks to a grant from Maryland's Department of Natural Resources.
A $100,000 grant through Program Open Space will allow for "a splash pad and ground jet sprays of various shapes and sizes at Festival Park," according to a news release from the Department of Natural Resources.
The announcement of the project funding came with another 15 projects around the state.

"We are continually working to evaluate existing play areas and develop new ones so that all Maryland families have the opportunity to enjoy safe and easily accessible outdoor recreational spaces,” Gov. Martin O’Malley said in the news release.
Maryland has funded more than 1,000 similar recreational projects since 1997.
