No Threat Found After Police Investigation At Baltimore-Washington Airport

The investigation delayed traffic and other services for a brief period on Friday.

BALTIMORE, MD — An unattended bag prompted a police investigation at Baltimore-Washington International Airport on Friday, briefly delaying traffic and other services, according to officials.

At 4:10 p.m., BWI spokesperson Jonathan Dean said police determined there was no threat and services were resuming.

"We appreciate our customers' patience and understanding," Dean said.

In a statement shared shortly before 4 p.m., airport officials said screenings at checkpoints located in Terminals D and E had been suspended due to an ongoing law enforcement investigation.

Additionally, the inbound roadway to the terminal was temporarily closed.

Reports from CBS Baltimore and WBAL said the investigation also prompted officials to suspend light rail service at the airport.
