Aberdeen Gino's Set To Open On Jan. 23

Gino's completes its return to Aberdeen next week.

The grand opening of the burger chain is set for Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 1013 Beards Hill Road in Aberdeen. The restaurant, which will be a cornerstone of the new Corner at Beards Hill development, is the chain's first in Harford County since returning to the market in 2011.

The restaurant will feature "fast casual" dining, according to a news release. Signature meals feature burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, wraps and real ice cream shakes, according to the release. Meals are served to the table and cleaned up by staff, with no tipping required.

"Yes the original Classic Gino Giant burger with the middle bun is awaiting all the fans that can’t wait to taste the special sauce again," franchise owner Darin Ingool said in the release.

While calling upon original customers, the new version of Gino's will also cater to newcomers, with a "Super Gino Giant," which features "more beef and a bigger bun," the release said. Customers also have the option to create their own burger.

A drive-thru window will be operational in the weeks following the restaurant's opening.

Aberdeen was a location of an original Gino's years ago, after former Colts greats Alan Ameche and Gino Marchetti, along with friend Louis Fischer, founded the chain in 1957.

According to a news release from Gino's, the first location was in Baltimore, and several others sprung up around the Baltimore area, and in New Jersey, Delaware and southern Pennsylvania. The chain was sold in 1982, with Marriott turning over many of the locations to Roy Rogers.

The re-created brand is based out of King of Prussia, PA. Other locations in the area include Perry Hall, Towson, Glen Burnie and Camden Yards.
