The community is invited to take part in the September 16 Oktoberfest event at the APG North Recreation Center.

From Aberdeen Proving Ground:
ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD — From brats and beer to oompah and polka, come celebrate Aberdeen Proving Ground's 2016 Oktoberfest at the APG North (Aberdeen) recreation center, September 16-17.
Festivities begin at 4 p.m. Friday, September 16 with an opening ceremony at the APG North Recreation Center hosted by Maj. Gen. Bruce T. Crawford, senior commander at Aberdeen Proving Ground beginning at 5 p.m. Installation and community leaders will share a centuries-old Bavarian tradition of tapping the first keg with a regional German band to provide music and entertainment.
"For many families, APG's Oktoberfest has become a great way to celebrate the fall season," said APG FMWR Chief Mike Lupacchino. "The festival this year is scaled down somewhat, but still provides something for everyone in the family from children's activities, delicious German-style food and beverages, polka and oompah music."
