APG To Open Transportation Center Next Week

The center will promote non-traditional transportation for Aberdeen Proving Ground workers.

Aberdeen Proving Ground leaders will hold a ribbon cutting Tuesday for a new facility designed to help promote smart transportation to and from post.

The Aberdeen Proving Ground-Chesapeake Science & Security Corridor (APG-CSSC) Transportation Center will be located along Susquehanna Avenue inside the gate at MD Route 715.

The center is constructed to more easily allow for efficient modes of transportation, moving APG workers away from single-occupancy vehicles, according to a CSSC news release. The goal, according to the news release, is to address issues outlined in the APG Traffic Demand Management Plan, which aims to reduce the amount of traffic congestion to and from post.
